Mission Statement
The Mission of Main Street
Stone Mountain is to plan, organize, produce and encourage community
programs and services which will revitalize, beautify and insure the long term
stability of an economically healthy business community. Programs produced shall
reflect the distinctive cultural and architectural integrity of Historic Stone
Mountain Village. All programs and services are to be developed through the Main
Street four point process to insure community pride and enthusiasm that is
symbolic of a welcoming and culturally diverse community.

The Downtown Development Authority of
the City of Stone Mountain is a public/private partnership working to
preserve the heritage and attain the future of downtown Stone Mountain,
Georgia. The Downtown Development Authority of the City of Stone Mountain
was formed in 1983 under the Georgia State Statutes permitting City
governments to form Downtown Development Authorities in an effort to help
save and revitalize the many economically depressed downtown areas
throughout the state. The Stone Mountain City Council activated the DDA in
September of 2006 by Resolution and appointed the 7 member board. We are a governmental tax-exempt entity with certain
State statutory authority with the consent of the City Council.
